1Upped!

Thursday's Lunch:
Yoshi chariben!

Ah, the delights of a well-thought out, cleverly designed lunch.  There is something to be said about a lunch that appeals to both the sense of taste and that of sight.  This one you can almost hear!  *grabs a shell* ^_^

Yoshi turned out downright adorable.  F'realz.

He is mostly comprised of (steamed) cabbage-wrapped, turkey Spam filled onigiri.  The whites of his eyes, cheeks, underbelly, and saddle lining are mozzarella cheese, whereas his boots are a nice sharp cheddar.  The red of his saddle and his tounge are strawberries.  His eyes and some accessorizing stars are carrots (some of the stars are peaches).
Now for some bento tips and tricks - I used a spice bottle cap to cut Yoshi's cheeks and eyes out - and his tongue is secured with broken spaghetti used as an edible skewer.

I do wish I had done better with his shoes... any suggestions for next time?

Yoshi received a very warm welcome in the lab today - three of the GRCC's air conditioners gave out today!  Yipes!

Best Dishes for you,
